NFCC GOLF FUNDRAISER JULY 27

This year NFCC is sponsoring "Swing Into Action With North Fulton Community Charities," an 18-hole golf tournament to be held Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Country Club of the South. We invite you to join us as we plan a challenge among our faith-based supporters. This is an opportunity to have representatives from your organization compete against others local faith organizations in the area.  The winning team will take home a traveling trophy and have an opportunity to return next year to defend the title. What we are asking of you is to form one or more foursomes to compete in this challenge. The cost of participation is $150.00 per person and $600.00 for a foursome.   Your support can help us assist the needs of local families as they struggle to make ends meet.

If you are interested in creating a foursome, working a table at the event or just helping in anyway you can, please contact Ted Weldon tedweldon@hotmail.com

SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD PDF Print E-mail

SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD is a theological term which refers to the unlimited power of God, who has sovereign control over the affairs of nature and history.fred_cropped_3

When serving the Lord we tend to forget that the Church belongs to God.  We are but workers in the vineyard.  At some point in each ministry there comes a time in which events (either caused by us or are beyond our control) occur that makes us feel that things are headed for the dumpster. When it happens to me I know that God is reminding me that He is the Head of the Church and that I’m just a hired hand.

I get encouragement by remembering one of my favorite Bible passages found in 1 Samuel chapters 5, 6 and 7 when the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant. The army of God was trying to figure a way to get it back.  God didn’t need their help… He got it back without their help. (read these chapters and see).

The night that we realized that we were going to need to search for a Worship Leader and someone to help grow our youth group God sent us a family who asked us if they could work with our youth and the next week we found a Worship Leader.

Now, if you pause and think about it, you have to come to the same conclusion that I did.  God is in control of His Church.

Last week we were introduced to Jeff and Andrea Bennett.  Jeff did an outstanding job leading our worship.  Jeff will be with us three Sundays a month, and we are blessed to have willing volunteers who will lead worship the remaining Sunday.  Jeff will plan each service and rehearse with our Worship Team

Two Sundays ago Dave and Sundae Witkowski transferred their fellowship to FCCR.  This is the couple who asked us if they could work with the youth.  Dave is working out the final details of getting our youth group to CIY in July.  He has arranged for a bus and driver so that all of the youth can travel safely in the same vehicle.

I am so glad that we have a Sovereign God.

Yucatan Peninsula Christian Mission

myucatan

The Yucatan Peninsula Christian Mission endeavors to teach and preach the word of God to individuals living in the states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo.  Baptizing all believers and establishing churches in accordance with the New Testament.

The Yucatan Peninsula Christian Mission was begun in 1971 when churches of the Greater Dayton area set a goal of taking the gospel to the Maya people living in Mexico.  With the financial assistance of churches in the Dayton area, Samuel Gonzalez and his wife Elizabeth moved to Merida, Yucatan in 1973 to start this important work.  After many years of serving Maya people in Merida and the surrounding communities, Samuel and Elizabeth were led to San Luis Potosi in 1990 to teach at the Central Christian Bible College.  During his tenure at the college, Samuel established the Lomas Christian Church.  Today, Samuel continues to minister in the churches, splitting his time between San Luis Potosi and the Yucatan Peninsula.  He is helping to raise a new generation of leaders who will be able to carry on this important mission.
