JOURNEY
CHRISTIAN CHURCH (NEW ORLEANS) - FCCR is
partnering with the Journey Christian Church
(www.journeyneworleans.com)
in West New Orleans (Jefferson Parish) to minister
to people
in the
affected areas by
helping to meet physical, emotional and spiritual
needs.
*
Churches in all 50
states and 7 countries have offered
their help.
* Over $1.3 million
has been raised to
help people rebuild lives.
* An
Advisory Board has been established
to provide strict
guidelines of accountability for the disbursement of
funds.
* The financial gifts are ebbing
used to help people buy food,
clothing, construction supplies and materials,
and to provide assistance for those who have been
displaced.
Rick Grover,
Journey's Lead Minister, says, "One family
we recently helped is from Journey Christian Church.
They called me from Picayune, Mississippi where they
have been displaced. They lost everything in the
flood and were living in a tent with
their eighty-year
old mother! We were able to assist them with buying
food, helping them pay bills,
and getting them back on their feet again. Now their
house is almost completely reconstructed, and they
will be moving back home next week! Thank you for
making it possible to help Eddie and his mother.
We ask that you continue
to pray for us and for all
those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We
praise God for the response from churches and
individuals all over the country, and we pray that
God will use this spirit of unity to make a
long-term impact for His glory!"
Journey is a new
church plant and is sponsored by STADIA, a new
church strategies organization. You can make an
online donation to Journey by going to STADIA's web
site (www.stadia.cc).
The
needs are still overwhelming, but God is able to do
all things through His people.
